I have been working out at ALF for the past several months and am thrilled by the improvement in my strength and overall health. I joined Active Life Fitness after the most devastating times in my life. It was the best thing I could have done. Over the last 3 years I have totally transformed my body l, mind and soul. The added bonus is the sense of community found within those walls. I’ve made friends and connections that keep me coming back week after week. The trainers are great and watch to be sure I don’t injure myself. Those factors make it worth it to me. Mimi Gabel2025-03-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went to my physical in February 2025 and since joining Active Life Fitness(ALF )in July of 2023 I have dropped 25 lbs, cholesterol decreased 20 pts and all my other numbers are normal. I am very happy with these results. I attribute this to the ALF coaches and the other gym members. Most are in my age range which is nice. I am a 58 year old female. I have made friends who motivate me to keep attending the group fitness classes. I even joined a bookclub started by another member. This is the best gym that I have ever joined and I’ve been a member of a lot of gyms. The owners and coaches really care about their clients. They make sure you are using proper form and correct you when you aren’t. They also help with nutrition planning. Anyone looking to change their life both mentally and physically should definitely consider joining ALF.❤️ Beth Lanzisera2025-01-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. For someone who has not been in a gym environment for many years, starting to weight train again at Active Life Fitness has been extremely helpful. The trainers know what they are doing and are great at explaining proper form and making accommodations for past injuries. Everyone there is very friendly, and there is a real sense of community. If you are looking for a fitness center that provides personal attention, a fun and light-hearted atmosphere, and a solid fitness plan I highly recommend Active Life Fitness! The classes are small, the individual attention superb, the individualized program focuses on one’s needs. After a 10 minute group warm up you follow your own program. There are always one or two coaches guiding you and making sure your form is good. Every one is friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. I am delighted to be part of this gym. I have now been going to Active Life Fitness for a little over a year, and I am delighted to report that my bone density improved from “osteoporosis” to “osteopenia”. My doctor credited my regular attendance to the program for that improvement. I am so pleased to be part of the ALF gym. Can’t thank my coaches enough for their guidance and encouragement. My home workouts could only take me so far and this was the perfect solution. The trainers are motivating and meet you where you are - and they aren’t afraid to challenge you either! The program includes a full body workout with a specific set of “exercises” that change every six weeks. Injured? No problem - modifications are available for any reason. The trainers are all extremely supportive. I had shoulder issues when I first started, but as I’ve gotten stronger my pains are gone ! If you’re on the fence about starting , just give it a try. You’ll be glad you did. Carol Ekstrand2024-10-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great workout and feeling great thanks to Marty ! However, since I had let myself get completely out of shape and overweight during COVID, I could not fit into my dress suits. It was humiliating to need to shop for bigger clothes. I turned to Active Life Fitness (ALF) for help. When I joined ALF, I was out of shape and overweight, but was determined to make changes. The staff at ALF took into account everything I had been doing and made practical lifestyle and nutritional suggestions. Between August, 2022 and November, 2022, I lost over thirty pounds, changed my body composition from flabby to lean muscle, and did it with the safety of dedicated personal trainers and pre-planned workouts. I will admit that my results are atypical, because I worked my butt off. I started out one-on-one training with the owner, Marty. I was at a "rehabilitation" level of fitness and needed a lot of ground work. Marty walked me through every exercise, tailored both the weights and the exercises to my prior injuries and abilities, and got me up and moving safely. I did a lot of cardio. A LOT of cardio. After a month of personal training, I transitioned to the regular classes. ALF is unlike any gym I've been to. If the words "group class" or "group fitness" make you blanch, you're not alone. I was skeptical. But these classes are not like other gyms where the instructor is at the front of the class with a mic and bumping techno beats while you try to keep up and not embarrass yourself. At ALF, each person in the class is given their OWN set of instructions that matches their progress, with a full outline of what exercises to do, all supervised by the personal trainers who oversee everything from setting up your weights on the big bars or trap bars to offering encouragement at the end of each workout. They offer minor corrections on your form, but otherwise you are working out on your own -- but with a few other people in the building (class sizes are small and capped) who are going through the same regimen, like you're all suffering together and supporting each other, comparing which exercises you like or don't like, making jokes, carrying on. It is literally a community gym, and the personal attention and constant care via text or email let me know that I am supported by admin and trainer staff at all times. In addition to regular workouts, ALF offers occasional fitness challenges to reorient my goals, and make the workouts actually mean something in a personal, visceral way. ALF is always challenging me to challenge myself. When I first joined, Marty asked me if I ever wondered why some folks age poorly and others seem fit into their 70s or beyond. The investment I am making in myself today has lasting benefits, and I don't want to be the old man in the recliner under a blanket wondering how I became so feeble. I am building a fortress against aging, one brick at a time, and you can too. Debbie H2024-09-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I joined ALF in February and I can’t say enough good things about them. I never liked the big box gyms. You’re just a number in those places. After 8 months at ALF, I’m stronger, have more energy, and my physical and mental health have greatly improved. If you’re looking for a small group setting where the all the people are supportive and committed to helping you achieve your goals, ALF is for you.
