- Feel uncomfortable exercising around a group.
- Are returning after an extended break from fitness.
- Have specific strength, mobility, or weight-management goals.
- Need exercises carefully adjusted around your current abilities.

Personal Training for Life After 40
Train for the Life You Want to Keep Living
Your fitness needs may change as you move through your 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. Training should account for those changes rather than asking you to exercise as if your body, priorities, and responsibilities have remained the same.
At Active Life Fitness, we focus on strength, mobility, balance, confidence, and sustainable progress. We consider where you are now and what you want to remain capable of doing in the years ahead.
That may mean keeping up with your family, traveling comfortably, playing golf, managing everyday responsibilities, or simply feeling stronger and more energetic.
Your program is challenging enough to help you progress but adaptable enough to remain realistic for your life.

A Team Behind Your Personal Program
Experienced Coaches Who Understand Fitness After 40
Your session may be one-on-one, but your progress is supported by the broader Active Life Fitness coaching team.
Our coaches communicate about your program and bring professional experience in personal training, exercise science, functional aging, functional strength, nutrition, bone health, golf fitness, and behavior change.

Why I Became a Coach
I graduated from Montclair State College with a degree in Food Service Management, as my original dream was to own a restaurant. I spent 16
years in that industry—including eight as a deli owner—but over time, I
realized it just wasn’t fulfilling. I started questioning whether this was really how I wanted to spend the rest of my life.
Around that time, my younger brother Dave was battling a brain tumor.
Instead of focusing on his illness, he dedicated the last eight years of his life to helping others “live their dreams.” His courage and perspective had a profound impact on me. It forced me to take a hard look at my own life.
My love of coaching began when I coached high school wrestling in my twenties. I loved helping young athletes build confidence and discover what they were capable of. After selling the deli in 1998, I decided to pursue coaching again—this time helping adults become healthier, stronger, and
more confident as they age. Today, I’m grateful to do work that feels meaningful every day, and in many ways, it’s my way of carrying forward Dave’s message.
A Little About Me Outside the Gym
When I’m not at the gym, I enjoy relaxing with Kim and our family, traveling, listening to music, watching sports (Giants, Yankees, and “real” wrestling), plus continuing to grow with personal development and business education.

Why I Became a Coach
After years of training women, I kept noticing something nobody in the fitness industry wanted to talk about.
It wasn’t the workouts that were failing people. It was the way they thought about themselves. The self-doubt. The all-or-nothing mindset. The voice that said, “I’ve tried this before, and it didn’t work.” The quiet belief that somewhere along the way, the window had closed, and it was too late to change.
That’s what sent me back to school.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Fordham University and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker because I needed to understand what was actually getting in the way — not just prescribe a better program. Now I get to do both. I help women get physically stronger and help them dismantle the thinking that has been stopping them for years. That combination — body and mind together — is why the changes actually stick.
A Little About Me Outside the Gym
I also work part-time at a perinatal mental health center at Barnabas Health, supporting postpartum women through some of the hardest chapters of their lives. What I’ve learned in both settings is the same thing: when you help someone believe they’re capable of more, everything changes.
I like to challenge myself in every area of my life. I’ve competed in the New York City Marathon twice, done Spartan races, and stepped into acting and modeling. I also create content around fitness and mindset for women who are done being told that getting older means slowing down. I love being with my family, traveling, and keeping life genuinely interesting.
I don’t believe getting older means disappearing. I believe it’s an opportunity most women haven’t been permitted to take yet — and helping them take it is some of the best work I’ve done.
But the best role of all was raising my three children, who have grown into wonderful adults.
