Don’t Let Up Now!

When COVID 19 hit us hard, people got the message that strengthening the body’s immune system was critical in avoiding a bad outcome.

Fear and survival are two great motivators, so, the first couple of months, they were “gung ho”; walking every day, buying up all of the exercise equipment on Amazon, and eating better than ever.

This surge in “health mindedness” has cooled off a bit, and many are slipping back into old ways. Maybe it’s natural complacency, or it could be home-based workouts have lost their luster.

In any event, the coronavirus is not going anywhere soon, and this is no time to decrease the attention you are giving your health and fitness.

One of the positives to come out of this pandemic will be a greater awareness of how our behavior and habits, when it comes to exercise and nutrition, determine how fit and healthy we are. This, in turn, can help us fight off not only coronavirus but also other diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.

Genetics notwithstanding, we are mostly responsible for our health and fitness. If it goes wrong, since we had a lot to do with it, we are also responsible for turning it around.

Here’s a quick habit “scoreboard” to see if you are heading in the right direction.

Check off each bullet point that applies to you then add up your check marks to see which side you’re on. Hopefully, the majority will be on the Pro-Health side. If not, you have some work to do to move some of those check marks over.
